You can learn to curl in just a few hours. Like most sports, it may take you a bit longer to become an expert!
Our Little Rocks, Junior/Bantam and Friday Night Mixed leagues have a significant instructional focus (all of our leagues are structured to accommodate players at all levels of experience).
The club conducts several “learn-to-curl” clinics throughout the season, which focus on:
- technique & fundamentals
- safety
- terminology
- rules
- strategy
- curling etiquette.
Above all, we want to make sure that of our new curlers have fun!
This season, our initial “learn-to-curl” clinic is scheduled on:
- Saturday, October 22, 2011 – 1pm-4pm.
An “OCA Clinic” clinic is scheduled on:
- November 12-13, 2011.
What to WearLayers: During instruction, you may be standing around for a few minutes watching and you may get cool. When you start to actually curl, you´ll warm up again. Wear a light jacket or fleece that you can take on and off as you see fit.
Wear loose pants: You need to be able to stretch easily (sweat pants & jeans are not allowed).
Bring gloves: You´re hands may get cold, so bring a pair of gloves or mitts.
Dress code: Please refer to our dress code for further information. |
What to BringFootwear: Make sure you bring some clean footwear, other than what you wear to the club. Clean running shoes or tennis shoes are fine.
Our ice technicians are driven to maintain perfectly flat, perfectly clean ice! You will not be able to go on the ice in the same footwear in which you arrive.
That´s it! The great thing about curling is that you don´t need any special equipment to get started.
The club has brooms for you to use. |
When you are ready, a wide selection of curling equipment, apparel, supplies and accessories is available at our Pro Shop during the curling season.
We know that you will quickly become hooked on the sport of curling, and we look forward to seeing you on the ice as a regular player!
